Cocoa Beach, is a perfect place for a family beach vacation and a fun and nostalgic placed to visit. Located on Florida’s Space Coast just an hours drive from Orlando, this is the setting of the long running TV show “I dream of Jeannie”.

Cocoa beach is quite affordable as vacation destinations go, yet offers the beauty of Florida beaches as well as great things to do, not the least of which is a trip to the Kennedy Space Center where you can get a guided tour as well as see memorabilia from all manned US space flights since 1964. You can learn more about the space program and visit the IMAX theater, Rocket Garden, Astronaut Hall of Fame and walk through a full sized space shuttle.

But the space center isn’t the only thing to do in Cocoa Beach, Florida. You can also enjoy some Florida deep sea fishing or parasailing. If you feel lucky you can take your chances on one of the casino cruise ships, or if you like the outdoors take a river tour and see some of the exotic Florida wildlife up close.

Just an hour south is Melbourne where you can visit the Brevard Zoo which has over 550 animals representing over 150 species. If you want something more thrilling, you can drive an hour East to Disneyworld, but if you do plan to make a couple of days of it and visit Epcot, MGM-Studios and Animal Kingdom. You might have to go back the next day to fit in Sea World and Universal Studios!

At night you can enjoy the nightlife at Cocoa beach which ranges from beach side restaurants to jazz clubs. There’s plenty of restaurants and shops to browse in and when you get tired of that, simply head back to the hotel and enjoy the perfect Florida weather out by the pool.

It’s inexpensive enough to bring the whole family yet beautiful enough to make you think you spent a fortune.
