Where To Go For The Best Beach Vacations

Maui Beaches

Maui beaches offer some of the most amazing scenery in the world along with great activities from lazing in the sun to snorkeling to surfing, Maui can truly be the beach vacationers paradise. With dozens of beaches, your sure to find one on Maui that will suit you - from undeveloped beaches to family oriented ones complete with lifeguards, Maui offers something for everyone.

South Maui Beaches offer a less crowded experience and, in fact, the rule is that the further south you go the less crowded it will be. Kihei has 10 beaches along it’s 6 miles of coastline and you can find some with restrooms, lifeguards and picnic areas. Wailea beach and Polo beach have equipment rentals as well as restrooms. Maluka beach located at the Maui Price Hotel is probably the most secluded and you might even spot a green sea turtle or two! South Maui also has one of the best beaches in all of Maui, Makena which is quite large and never crowded. It has gorgeous white sand, restrooms and picnic areas.

West Maui offers a breathtaking vista of beaches from Lahaina to Kapalua. If you like snorkeling, you ‘ll want to visit Kaanapali Beach with it’s 3 miles of white sand beaches ringed by luxury hotels. It offers a variety of water sports such as sail boating, surfing and catamaran rides. The north end has Black Rock which is famous for it’s snorkeling.

If you don’t want to be surrounded by high rises, check out Napili bay. This little bay is also great for kids since it is protected from waves. Kapalua Resort in West Maui is a great place for beach lovers since it is home to D.T. Fleming Beach, Oneloa Bay Beach and, of course, Kapalua beach.

East Maui beaches are more secluded than the rest and surrounded by lush tropical scenery with aqua waters and white beaches. If you visit Hamoa beach, don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers and colorful plants that are sure to be in your path as you approach the beach. For some of that famous black sand, you’ll want to go to Hana Bay Beach just off Hana Highway. If you really want a different beach experience, then check out the Red Sand Beach. Not easy to find, this beach has great snorkeling and swimming and is a must see if you want privacy as it’s hidden path makes it difficult to find.
